About Us
Heavy Mettle is a First Lego League (FLL) robotics team from J.O. Kelly Middle School in Springdale, Arkansas. Our team was established in the fall of 2013. During our rookie season we won the Springdale Qualifier Champions Award, Springdale Qualifier ACE Award, and the Arkansas State Championship Presentation Award. The theme for the 2013 season was Nature's Fury. While learning about natural disasters and specifically tornadoes, our team decided to create an app that could help in the event that a tornado would strike our school. The app was designed to capitalize on real-time data to help school officials locate and reunite all students with their families as effectively as possible after a tornado. The Re-U-Knight App is in the prototyping phase. You can find more information regarding our innovative solution on the FLL Global Innovation website. Click the button below to go there now.
